What is Portulaca Oleracea Purslane?

Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) is a green leafy vegetable that grows wild. It is native to Asia. To some, it is considered a weed because of its growth patterns. Purslane has been used for thousands of years throughout the world for herbal remedies as well as an edible plant in salads.
Purslane was used in ancient Rome for symptoms such as headaches, intestinal worms, and stomachaches. Another folk use of purslane was for reducing fever.
